In a rare change, a bill was proposed by, got the support of both TMC and BJP in the West Bengal Assembly, and the MLAs, who are at each other's throats on many occasions, shared a lighter moment. Amid the rising demands of separating North Bengal from West Bengal, minister Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay tabled a bill against 'Bang Bhang' (Division of West Bengal).
During the discussion, CM Mamata Banerjee expressed her support for Shubhendu Adhikari's proposal aimed at the development of an undivided Bengal. Speaking firmly against the division of Bengal, she emphasized the importance of a strong state for a strong center. On a lighter note, the CM said, "I never have any problem, if you call me for tea, I have no inconvenience", to which Shuvendu Adhikari chuckled.
Following this, Shobhandev Chattopadhyay sat next to Suvendu. The proposal against the division of Bengal received unanimous support in the assembly, with BJP members also backing it. Mamata Banerjee reiterated her commitment to the development and unity of Bengal, stating, "We do not want division, we want development."
